Peyi b. 1952
"...spontaneous and full of vitality, he took up painting at a very young age."
Born in Pínar del Río, Cuba, spontaneous and full of vitality, he took up painting at a very young age. Sketches and well-defined lines form the basis for the sensitive transfer to a new dimension of aspects that capture his attention. At times he has expressed himself through caricatures and succumbed to a fascination for still life made with sure lines and elegance of color. He often uses primary colors. Peyi manages to fill the dark of night with creations that let him share all of the emotion of his visions with us through the expressiveness he discovers in faces and objects in the nocturnal struggle against his obsessions and demons.
