Imagino rozando caracolas
con el beso del agua en los tobillos.
Sueño que camino en soledad

Loneliness
I imagine skimming shells
with the kiss of the water on the ankles.
I dream that I walk alone
with my body of salt and me,
as the birds lay their wings
and they chirp low in my ears.
I have awakened with the taste of the sea
without knowing where I came from,
fragile my hands tempt the waves
but they have left,
as the birds leave silently

Mención especial merece La Virgen, por su tratamiento –suspendido entre la metáfora y la metonimia- de la figura bíblica, transmutada en un sexo femenino, poderosa imagen esta que, entre otras cosas, sugiere una relectura de varios de los mitos fundacionales de la cultura occidental.
La artista muestra además su versatilidad en otra línea de creación, afín al universo discursivo referido anteriormente, pero que denota una faceta más de su versatilidad. El arte asiático ha sido objeto de estudio y meditación profunda por parte de Hilda, y su influencia se expresa en pinturas y esculturas que acusan una clara influencia de aquel, sobre todo en su cualidad caligráfica.
Uno de las principales valores de estas piezas es su notable síntesis expresiva, vinculada a una suerte de contención, alejada, no obstante, de cualquier laconismo, pues una vez más el cuerpo y sus resonancias míticas son canalizados por la artista en apenas un trazo (La virtud sostenida), o asociados a una narrativa histórico legendaria (La joya de Alejandría).

The Virgin deserves special mention for its treatment - suspended between metaphor and metonymy - of the biblical figure, transmuted into a female sex, a powerful image that, among other things, suggests a rereading of several of the founding myths of the western culture.
The artist also shows her versatility in another line of creation, akin to the discursive universe referred to above, but which denotes one more facet of her versatility. Asian art has been the object of study and deep meditation by Hilda, and her influence is expressed in paintings and sculptures that are clearly influenced by it, especially in her calligraphic quality.
One of the main values of these pieces is their remarkable expressive synthesis, linked to a kind of containment, far removed, however, from any laconicism, since once again the body and its mythical resonances are channeled by the artist in just one stroke (La virtud sostenida -Sustained virtue-), or associated with a legendary historical narrative (La joya de Alejandría -The Jewel of Alexandria-).
