Biography
The paintings of this self-taught artist from southern Oakland underline his spontaneity and spirituality, in combination with a certain kind of expressionist aesthetics. Wright mixes religious imagery – angels and doves are his favorite motifs - with beautiful landscapes from the region where he lives. Although tempera was his preferred technique, also before that, he used chalk and color pencils.
